Definition of Input Mask
0 Can hold only a digit in that place –
Cannot be skipped
9 Can hold only a digit.  Can be skipped
# Can hold either Digit, + or – sign or space.
If skipped converted to spaces
L Can hold letter only.  Cannot be skipped
? Can hold letter.  Can be skipped
A Can hold either letter or digit cannot be skipped
a Can hold either letter or digit.  Can be skipped
& Can hold any character or space.  Cannot be skipped
C Can hold any character or space.  Can be skipped
< Causes character to the right to be converted to
lower case. Cannot place 0, 9 or # after this
> Causes character to the right to be converted to
upper case. Cannot place 0, 9 or # after this
\ Causes the character that follows to be displayed as
the literal character (eg: \A is displayed as just A)
